Audition Video Guidelines/Requirements
NOTE: Please review our Tuition Requirements before submitting an audition!!
The LYS has chosen to continue with recorded video auditions for the season. Here are some guidelines on making a successful audition video. We can’t wait to see you!
Record a video
Not just an audio recording. Must be video!
Check that recording levels do not distort your sound
Place microphone/camera approximately 4 to 6 feet away, ensuring that you can be clearly seen on the video
Record your entire audition in one take
No splicing or editing
Introduce yourself - Name, grade level and school, audition piece(s) and composer(s)
Total video length should not exceed 10 minutes
Before recording your audition please do a test recording of your equipment so that you can resolve any issues ahead of time. Plan to submit your audition early for time to resolve any technical issues.
