Welcome to the Longmont Youth Symphony

The Longmont Youth Symphony is an orchestra committed to serving the young musicians of the St. Vrain Valley and surrounding areas. The Youth Symphony provides a resource for young musicians to further develop and excel in their musical abilities through the guidance of professional leadership and direction. By doing so, we enable our youth to entertain, educate, and expand appreciation of music within the community.

The LYS offers:

Public Concerts, including one with the Longmont Symphony Orchestra

Challenging music, designed to help every student grow

Exposure to a broad sampling of musical repertoire

Programs for younger musicians, in the Longmont Junior Youth Symphony

Retreats, Oktoberfest, picnics, and fun!

Regular rehearsals April 12, 19, 26 and May 3rd 9:00-11:30am at Silver Creek High.

Dress rehearsal on May 9th. Please arrive to Niwot HIgh School at 6:30pm. Rehearsal will end at 9:00pm. PLEASE DRESS IN CONCERT ATTIRE FOR THIS REHEARSAL. A photographer will be on hand and will be taking orchestra photos!

Concert on May 10th. There will be a warm-up rehearsal prior to the actual concert. Please plan to arrive at 11:45am for rehearsal until 1:05pm. Concert begins at 2:00pm.

End of year BBQ. May 18th 12noon-2:00pm at the Fairgrounds Picnic Shelter at the corner of Nelson Road and Hover. LYS will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Families should bring a side dish or dessert to share. Orchestra photos will be distributed at this event as our gift to you.

The symphony is still looking for musicians playing French horn, trombone and violin.
