Longmont Youth Symphony Auditions New Member Auditions for LYS and JYS new members and LYS string seating will be held Saturday, August 23, 2008. Please phone the LYS office for detailed audition information including audition music and new instruments currently being accepted. Audition Requirements

• Prospective LYS members should be prepared to play a 2 or 3 octave scale, whichever is appropriate for their instrument. (String players should play a scale that requires shifting positions)
• One fast and one slow piece, demonstrating contrasting styles and techniques. (That is, One piece that is in a staccato style and one in legato.)
• Some sight-reading may be required.

The entire audition will not exceed 15 minutes.
