Longmont Youth Symphony Auditions New Member Auditions for both LYS and JYS entry will be held on Sunday and Monday, June 1 and 2, 2008 and on August 23, 2008. Please phone the LYS office for detailed audition information including audition music and new instruments currently being accepted. Audition Requirements

• Prospective LYS members should be prepared to play a 2 or 3 octave scale, whichever is appropriate for their instrument. (String players should play a scale that requires shifting positions)
• One fast and one slow piece, demonstrating contrasting styles and techniques. (That is, One piece that is in a staccato style and one in legato.)
• Some sight-reading may be required.

The entire audition will not exceed 15 minutes.
